Update from Neil Woodford - Equity Income Fund suspension

Fund manager Neil Woodford has issued an update explaining the decision to suspend all investor trading in his flagship equity income fund.

In a video posted to the Woodford website, Mr Woodford has apologised to investors for the suspension and explained he believed it was necessary to protect investors’ interests.

Mr Woodford said the suspension aims to give time to execute their strategy to reduce the fund’s exposure to illiquid and unquoted companies to zero, and redeploy capital to stocks in the FTSE 350, primarily the FTSE 100.
