Junior ISA Case Study

Giving your children a helping hand for their future finance

Most parents, if they have the means, would like to be able to give their children financial help for their later life. There are a number of ways to save, depending on how much flexibility you wish for and tax efficiency.

Sameh Hussain is a pioneer in the field of savings and investments for children. The youngster, who is approaching his 11th birthday, was the first child to have a Child Trust Fund (CTF) opened for him at Redmayne Bentley. Sameh and his younger sister Amelia, eight, both now hold Junior ISA (JISA) accounts with the firm.

His father, insurance broker Tanveer Hussain, explained: “A JISA was something I wanted my children to have for the future, a fund that guaranteed money would be available in their own account when they turned 18.
“My father saved money for us and I wanted to carry that forward. I hope this money will be put to good use and this will help my children to continue with their savings after they have turned 18, passing it on to the next generation.”

He continued: “Redmayne Bentley provides a really good service. I get annual valuations, and I can find out what stage the JISA is at. It is a very easy service to use and I have had no hassle. A personalised service, where you get to speak to a person rather than simply dealing online, is more valued than people realise. This is what Redmayne Bentley can offer, taking the time to sit with a client and speak to them, enabling them to speak to a person face-to-face.”

Please note, investments and income arising from them can fall in value and you may get back less than you originally invested. Tax treatment depends on the specific circumstances of each individual and may be subject to change in the future. Please note, Redmayne Bentley is not a provider of pensions, nor a pensions adviser. We do offer investment services for self-invested and personal pensions.
