Operations Student Placement (12 month FTC)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two undergraduate sandwich course students to join our Operations Team on a 12-month work experience placement at our head office in Leeds, starting on the 11th July 2022.

The roles
The successful candidates will gain an insight of what it is like to work in the financial industry and an understanding of the inner workings of an award-winning Investment Management and Stockbroker firm by supporting our Operations department.

Working across the following Operations teams; Data Management, Transfers and Settlements, you will ensure that each team functions effectively and efficiently, by providing administration support and actioning internal enquires from the wider firm.

You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including opening and maintaining client’s records, facilitating the movement and delivery of assets, checking sold transfers, and delivering certificates to market as well as liaising with our office network and custodians to ensure all actions are correct.

The year you spend with us will provide you with the foundations to make a real mark within the finance industry, by gaining an understanding of the activities that underpin the work we do but you also have the option to take the first module of the L3 Investment Operations Certificate, Introduction to Securities and Investments.  

Requirements
Applicants should be studying for a related degree and have previous experience of working within a team. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and general technological confidence is also a must. Academic qualification requirements are 3 A Levels at grade A-C and 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades A-C or equivalent.

The working hours are 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.
