Performance and Risk Manager

A vacancy has arisen in our Investment Management Department for a Performance and Risk Manager to join our team at our Leeds head office.
 
Reporting to the Director of Investment Management, the role involves developing, overseeing and contributing to the execution of the Portfolio Risk Monitoring Plan.
 
Main responsibilities
  • Developing, overseeing and contributing to the execution of the Portfolio Risk Monitoring Plan ("PRMP"), including: Performance monitoring; Asset allocation monitoring; Investment selection monitoring; and File reviews.
  • Preparing and presenting of PRMP findings and recommendations.
  • Primary contact for Investment Managers for ad hoc and non-standard/complex queries relating to Portfolio Risk.
  • Acting as subject matter expert on all key Portfolio Risk metrics and practices, including performance, benchmark and statistical data.
  • Proactively working with Investment Managers and senior managers to identify areas of expansion/improvement to Portfolio Risk monitoring practices, in keeping with industry best practice.
  • Working with the Director of Investment Management to design and develop Portfolio Risk policies and procedures and Portfolio Risk monitoring tools.
 
 Applicants should possess:
  • Experience of monitoring portfolio management and/or wealth management regulated individuals, monitoring of packaged products and dealing with advisers.
  • Knowledge in a wide range of financial investments, e.g. equities, bonds, derivatives.
  •  An understanding of Training and Competence requirements, investment management suitability requirements and risk management.
  • An ability to evaluate, discuss, put forward an argued and balanced case to reach a mutually agreeable and workable solution to internal issues of policy implementation and interpretation and Organisational awareness. 
  • Management and Analytical Skills.
  • Time management skills to ensure good prioritising, problem solving and organisational skills. 
  • Ability to manage conflict to reach agreed solutions. 
  • Ability to use initiative to resolve issues and develop systems to ensure work is done effectively and efficiently.
 
Qualifications
 
Required: CISI level 4 Investment Advice Diploma or equivalent Level 4 CII & CFA FCA appropriate level 4 RDR complaint qualifications for Securities.
