Investment Manager – Glasgow

The Glasgow office is seeking an Investment Manager with an established client bank to join their team based in their Glasgow office.
Reporting to the Head of Office, the role involves handling the day-to-day management of advisory and discretionary portfolios and day-to-day dealings.

Main responsibilities
  • To manage Investment Portfolios for advisory/discretionary clients in accordance with agreed risk and objectives.
  • To provide a dealing service to clients
  • To carry out general duties about Investment Management
  • To carry out media work. Investment presentations
  • To develop new business
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all technical procedures about day to day dealing
  • To maintain a detailed knowledge of all aspects of Investments and Markets
  • To ensure compliance with FCA requirements, the branch manual, Code of Conduct policies and T&C framework
  • To adhere to the Statement of Principles for Approves Persons
  • To report any risks which may be detrimental to clients or to the firm’s reputation, which arise from inadequate procedures, systems or data handling
Desirable skills and experience
  • Detailed knowledge of all aspects of Investments and the markets generally.
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office knowledge, knowledge of the Minotaur system
  • Ability to communicate well with colleagues and clients; ability to work well in a team.
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads; ability to follow things through to completion; ability to give feedback to colleagues and clients.
  • Experience essential including valid Statement of Professional Standing. 
Qualifications
Qualified to industry level 4 e.g. CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma in Securities; Level 6 PCIAM Diploma; CISI Masters (Wealth Management); or equivalent accredited body retail qualification relating to securities.
