SCS profit rises on higher sales

SCS Group has posted a rise in annual net profit after it increased sales density at its furniture and flooring stores.

Net profit rose by 8% to £9.4m, from £8.7m in the previous year. Revenue jumped by 4.9% to £333.0m.

SCS said trading since the start of the new financial year was in line with its expectations.

It declared a final dividend of 9.80p per share, bringing the full year dividend to 14.70p, up 1.4% on the previous year.

"We are delighted to be reporting continued sales growth across all areas of the group for the third year in a row," chief executive David Knight said.

"The core SCS business has continued to focus on providing excellent choice, value and quality for our customers, and I am pleased to see this delivering record results in furniture and flooring sales."
