FTSE edges higher after US gains

The FTSE 100 edged up 0.18% to 7,444.05 on Friday morning following gains in the US and Asia.

ZPG (ZPG), which owns and operates brands like Zoopla, uSwitch, PrimeLocation and Hometrack, added 1.67% to 358.4p on news it has acquired Ravensworth, a provider of on-demand print and creative marketing services to UK estate and letting agents.

Rio Tinto (RIO) edged up 0.18% to 3,753.25p after completing the sale of its wholly-owned subsidiary Coal & Allied Industries to Yancoal Australia.

Fiske (FKE) announced that it swung back into the black in the year to the end of May with a pre-tax profit of £31,000 against a loss of £1,316,000 last time. The shares were flat at 56.5p.

Everyman Media Group's (EMAN) first half revenue rose by 55% to £18.8m and adjusted EBITDA increased by 123% to £3.0m, sending the shares 3.81% higher to 163.5p.

EMIS Group (EMIS) saw continued growth in recurring revenue in the six months to the end of June, but a slip in operating profit from £17.7m to £17.5m sent the share price 2.24% lower to 960.5p.

TechFinancials (TECH), a provider of technology to financial trading brokers, swung to a pre-tax loss attributable to shareholders of $730,000 in the first half from a profit of $520,000 the year before. The shares remained flat at 6.75p.

Altyn's (ALTN) first half turnover rose by 35% to $9.4m while operating losses fell to $109,000 from $1.3m and pre-tax losses narrowed to $1.2m from $2.5m. The share price plunged 13.33% to 1.3p.

Ramsdens (RFX), a financial services provider and retailer, surged 15.33% to 165.5p after saying interim and full year profit before tax will be significantly ahead of market expectations. Story provided by StockMarketWire.com
