Victrex revenue up but consumer electronics business struggles

25 July 2017 09:50

Polymer solutions business Victrex (VCT) increased third quarter revenue by 26% to £76.3 million with group sales volumes up 6% to 1,022 tonnes.

Year to date, group revenue is £207.3 million, up 17% year-on-year.

The company said the second half sees a tougher volume comparative, but its core business has remained in good growth, with automotive, electronics (ex-consumer) and value added resellers being notably strong.

Consumer electronics volumes were lower than the prior year. For the remainder of 2017, consumer electronics volumes are expected to be lower than previous guidance.

The company said its strong core business performance is more than offsetting lower consumer electronics and may offer a degree of upside potential for the full year.
