24 February 2015 13:45

Qatar Investment Fund's net asset value per share rose by 8.6% in the six months to the end of December. This compares with a 6.9% increase in the Qatar Exchange Index.

Chairman Nicholas Wilson said: "The Qatar Exchange was the only market to achieve a positive return during the six-months ending 31 December 2014 with the other Gulf Cooperation Council exchanges falling by an average of 5.5%.

"Qatar's positive performance in the face of sharply falling hydrocarbon prices was due to continuing diversification of the economy, with infrastructure contract awards and foreign inflows."
